Taj Mahal Deja Vu

   Haven't I done this before? When I first spoke to this couple, they were interested in a full replica of the Taj Mahal out of cake for their wedding. Our cohorts on the east coast at Charm City Cakes had done this on their show, and this couple saw it, and had to have it.  Now, I love Duff as much as the next cake girl, but, us midwesterners are a little bit more, shall we say, "cakeservative"?  For this couples ultra glamourous reception at the St. Paul Hotel, we just thought a beautiful Ivory tower in the spirit of the Taj would serve our purposes more elegantly than a scale model of the building.  The bride and groom agreed, and we created our second Taj Mahal themed cake (see our first one here).  I love how different the two cakes are from one another.  Even with the same underlying theme, the couples' personalities and sense of style dictated these two very unique cakes.  The one thing I couldn't resist repeating on this second Taj Mahal cake...the light up minaret towers.  They just glowed!
